Śnieżka - "The Queen of the Karkonosze"
Śnieżka (1,602 m above sea level) is the highest point of the Karkonosze - a must-visit destination on every trip to our mountains. At the summit stands a distinctive meteorological observatory shaped like "flying saucers." One of the most recognizable buildings in the region.
The most convenient way to quickly get close to the summit is to use the Zbyszek cable car in Karpacz.
The lift takes tourists to Kopa (1,377 m above sea level).
From there, a well-prepared, wide trail leads to the Silesian House, and then to Śnieżka (red trail).
Walking time from the upper station: approx. 40–60 minutes depending on pace.
This is the shortest approach option - ideal for families, less experienced hikers, or those who want to enjoy the views without a long uphill walk.
It is best to start the expedition to Śnieżka from Karpacz, where you can choose from several trails of varying degrees of difficulty. Ask for a map at the reception desk.
Admission to the Karkonosze National Park is paid.
